Comprehensive State Police Crackdown on Illegal Waste Storage and Disposal Across the Nation

Over the past three days, from May 13 to 15, the State Police embarked on an extensive operation across the national territory with a focus on combating illegal waste storage and disposal practices. The meticulously planned activities, spearheaded by SCO at the central level, engaged mobile teams and Sisco agents in 33 provinces.

Collaborative Efforts with Regional Agencies and Traffic Police

The regional agencies for environmental protection and the traffic police also provided specialist support to ensure a coordinated approach in addressing the various forms of illegality prevalent within this sensitive sector. In certain provinces, peripheral structures of the National Corps of the Port Authority were also roped in to bolster the operational efforts.

Targeting Suspected Waste Storage Areas

During these three days of intense operational activities, a total of 168 areas suspected of being used for illegal waste storage and conservation were identified and scrutinized. Out of these, 40 sites underwent seizure procedures as part of the ongoing efforts to enforce environmental protection regulations.
